I have been in the customer service business for the majority of my life. Hard work was a way of life, so I started helping my dad mow yards at a young age. My brother and I eventually took over the lawn maintenance business from our dad during junior high and high school. We have always worked well together and have had the entrepreneurial spirit from the beginning.
I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s in Health. After college, I married my high school sweetheart and immediately joined the Dallas Fire Department. The Good Lord has blessed us with three energetic boys who keep us busy with homeschooling, archery, and basketball.
My faith in Jesus, and love for my church family and others, motivates me to be my best and bring glory to God through my work. As with most firefighters, a part-time job came naturally, so I chose to start a business with my brother in a familiar field.
I have been in the pool business in some capacity for 20 years, from commercial equipment installer to now co-owner of First In Pools. It’s a privilege to continue doing what I enjoy: providing quality service to customers, whether at the fire department or on your pool.

A strong work ethic has been a part of my life from the time I was young. I remember sitting on the back of the truck, watching my dad mow yards after he had already worked a full day at the machine shop. Eventually, I took over his yard business when I was 16, and I learned that quality and hard work are what drive a business. While attending the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to obtain my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, I began working for a large commercial pool company, where I learned how to check chemicals in order to calibrate commercial chemical controllers. After college, I continued working for the same company and became part of a crew that installed all the circulation and filtration systems for large aquatic centers.
I left this company when I was hired by the Dallas Fire Department, where I have served for over 17 years and currently hold the rank of Lieutenant at my own station. During this time, I was lucky enough to marry my college sweetheart, and we have been blessed with two children who keep us busy. I spend my free time going to church and enjoying as much time as possible on our farm with the family. First In Pools was created by me and my brother. We take pride in providing cleaning and repair services to both commercial and residential pools. Whether it’s the family pool party or the commercial pool where families gather, we are happy to be a part of helping take care of these pools. Faith and Family.
